Microsoft has announced that their OneDrive desktop application running on Win 7,8 and 8.1 will stop syncing to the cloud by March 1, 2022.
This has become necessary for the company because they intend to focus their resources on new technologies and operating systems that provide users with the most secure and up-to-date experience.
Users are recommended to upgrade their operating system to either Windows 10 or 11 to continue enjoying support for the app.
However there is an alternative to the OneDrive desktop app for users who have systems that do not meet the requirements for Windows 10 or 11 upgrade. Users can manually upload their files to OneDrive using the web application.
